| Study, work, travel - so many
options open up when you finish school. And while there’s
plenty of reasons to party, it’s a good idea to sort out
your career goals first. Sure, you’ve got the rest of your
life to work and study – but the choices you make now can
help lay the foundations for the rest of your life.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- What subjects do you like doing?
- What subjects are you good at?
- Do you like working outside, or do you see yourself being happy in an office
environment?
- What do you like doing in your spare time?
- Do you want to live in the country or the city?
- Do you want to continue your studies or would on-the-job training as part
of an apprenticeship suit you better?
- Do you prefer working alone or as part of a team?
Write down your answers. Already you’ve narrowed down your options.
And that can be a good thing – otherwise the number of choices out there
can seem overwhelming.
