| You’ve probably been to
a few career fairs, had a chat with the school careers adviser
and been inundated with leaflets, pamphlets and brochures.
Don’t worry too much if you still aren’t sure of what
lies ahead – or where you want to go. The choice you make
now isn’t binding. In fact you will probably change careers
more than 10 times throughout your life.
What you have to do is take that first step into either employment
or further education – it’s all about finding out which
one suits you best. Start by thinking about what you like to do – your
interests and things that are important to you. Decide if you want
to continue to study – at university or TAFE – or find
an apprenticeship, start work or even take a year off.
