It may seem like the work is over now
you’ve finished your final exams, but this is the time when you have to make
some hard decisions – what do you want to do next? There is a world of
opportunities to be explored and career and study options to think about and it
can seem a bit daunting if you don’t know where to start.
You may already have some idea about what
you want to do, whether it’s further study, taking time off, travelling or
getting a job straight away. Whatever you are thinking about there are a lot of
resources to help you, from your school careers counsellor, to friends, family
and even people in the industry to which you are thinking of entering.
Life has changed a lot even since your
parents started work or study and today it’s not uncommon for people to change
careers up to seven times in their life, so what you decide to do now is not
set in stone.
A career today is all about learning and
experience, not just staying in one job for life, so keep in mind that there are
lots of avenues and opportunities to grow and learn no matter which direction
you choose to take right now.
