Congratulations, you are about to take charge of an important mission – your life. Like all high priority missions, there will be some tough decisions.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about heading straight into the workforce, or going to university or TAFE? All are good options. The question is, which one is right for you?

If you’re not ready to dive into more study, that’s okay. Take some time off to travel or work. Do some short courses to get a flavour of some potential careers.

If you are ready for work, there are lots of options. You can work towards a qualification on the job  – through a traineeship or apprenticeship. Or you can jump straight into an industry with a high demand for workers like retail or mining.

No matter what you choose, don’t feel locked in by your decision. These days you could have up to 25 jobs and up to 10 different careers in your lifetime. This is just the beginning of an adventure that will last your whole life! Indeed, career development is a life-long process.
