It can give you information on vacancy trends, skills shortages, industry employment trends. An online companion to the publication can be found at Australian JobSearch or to get a copy of the booklet go to www.workplace.gov.au/workplace/Publications.
The
My Future website www.myfuture.edu.au also has valuable labour market information, career assessment packages and information on post graduate and professional courses.

Be Realistic About Your
Expectations
After spending years at university it’s understandable that
graduates are looking for a good salary and remuneration. However,
you could be aiming too high. The most recent Snapshot Survey from
Graduate Careers Australia found many graduates overestimate their
value in the market and many employers underestimate that value.
The key thing to remember when looking for jobs is to look at the whole salary
and remuneration package offered, taking into account not just salary but other
benefits that may be included such as further training opportunities and flexibility
in working conditions.
To find out what the average starting salary is for a graduate in your own field – or
in any industry – log onto www.gradsonline.com.au. It
can also tell you where the jobs are located.
