Your career has already started
Yes it has, even if you hadn’t noticed! Your career is the outcome of all the choices you make - the things you do at the end of your compulsory education, the courses you have chosen at university, those you might do in the future, and all of your work experience, both full-time and part-time.

Any work experience can be valuable for the future – even relatively unskilled work. All jobs teach you something about working with other people, about the demands of the workplace, and about what you are good at. And they earn you money!

Find out about part-time and vacation work from your student employment service, or from local newspapers. Find about course-related work from your Careers Service. Look for volunteer opportunities.
