What's in Store

Despite the gloomy forecasts brought about by the world economic crisis, graduates are still in demand.

The latest Graduate Outlook survey from Graduate Careers Australia says most employers are looking to employ the same number if not more graduates in 2009.

Although there has been a shakeup in the financial sector, graduates in accounting and economics are still a hot commodity, and despite a downturn in the mining and exploration sector, engineers across the board are wanted almost everywhere.

There are also opportunities for computer and information sciences graduates, and with a skill shortage in health and allied health professions, graduates in medicine, dentistry, and pharmacy are also highly sought after.
